Counts, waste & expiry

Count stock, record waste with its reason and stay ahead of expiry dates.

Stock counts

In Inventory → Stock counts, select New count for a warehouse, optionally limited to one category, and enter what you find, on your phone if you like. Closing the count adjusts only the items you counted and values the difference at their average cost. Items you did not count stay as they were. Cancelling a count adjusts nothing.

Each line is compared with the stock at the moment you counted it. A delivery that comes in between counting an item and closing the count is kept, not wiped out by the count.

Waste

Record waste in Inventory → Stock with Record movement and the Write-off reason, then say why it was thrown away: expired, spoiled, breakage, preparation waste, service waste, plate waste, theft or loss, or another reason. Each record is valued at its cost and appears in the waste report, so you can see what you throw away and why.

Lots and expiry dates

Lots received or produced with a use-by date appear in Inventory → Lots & expiry, soonest first. Every morning Komplian checks which lots expire within the warning period, three days by default, and lets owners and admins know in the notification bell, once per lot. You can also start a flow when a lot is about to expire. Select Write off on a lot to open a write-off already filled in with that lot as expired.

As stock is used, it comes out of the lot that expires first, so the list shows what is really left of each lot.
