Catalogue
One catalogue for everything you sell, whether it comes from a store or you type it in.
The catalogue lives in Operations → Catalogue. It is the master list of everything the business sells, and the same list that quotes, orders, delivery notes and the AI agent read from.
One catalogue, four kinds of item
An item is anything you buy, keep, sell or lend. What it is decides how it behaves:
- Physical: counted in the stock ledger, delivered with a delivery note.
- Service: consumed in the calendar and delivered as an event.
- Digital: does not run out, delivered on confirmation.
- Subscription: does not run out, billed each cycle.
Fields that do not apply to a kind are not shown. A consulting hour has no reorder point, and a subscription has no barcode.
Where an item comes from
Items from a connected store carry that store’s badge; items you create carry none. Both live in the same list and both can go on a quote, an order or a delivery note.
Stock, and when there is none to count
Three things can be true of an item, and they are not the same:
- In the ledger: Komplian counts it, from receipts and deliveries.
- From the store: the store counts it. We keep its last figure and when it said so.
- Not counted: nobody counts it — a service, a subscription, a made-to-order item.
An item that is not counted is not out of stock. It is available, and the agent says so rather than inventing a shortage.
Variants
A variant is an item with a parent, so a size or a colour has its own price, barcode and stock. The list shows the parent; open it to see its variants underneath.
Editing a synced item
You can correct the name, description or price of an item that came from a store, and the next sync will not overwrite your change. The stock figure is the exception: it belongs to the store and keeps refreshing, because a number nobody updates is worse than no number.
Publishing your own item to a store
An item you created can be sent up to a connected Shopify or WooCommerce store from its panel. It is created there once; from then on the store leads and changes come back through the sync.
